This is a very short, very concise video on how to properly cross moving water on foot. It’s key to bring trekking poles if you know you’ll be crossing moving water on your trip. They can add stability and quite a bit of confidence if you are worried about being knocked down by the current. And remember that if something looks unsafe or out of your skill level, it probably is.
You may have noticed a new section on the home page for Outdoorzy, the “Featured Video”.
Outdoorzy and The Weather Channel have teamed up to bring you amazing videos with an outdoor adventure flare. We’re very excited about this new pairing. The Weather Channel has created a page for their Epic series where people like you can upload videos of your adventures.
Check it out and upload a video today. At least swing by and watch some of the craziness other people are doing. Good stuff!
So Buster sent me this viral video that has been going around. It claims that you can turn a regular mountain dew into a glow stick by adding Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda. I was shocked and amazed at first… mostly cause I hadn’t heard of it. But then I got a little skeptical. So, Emile and I decided to try it out this morning….
Yep, we got way too excited that this might work. We were like two kids running around getting the ingredients together. Then it didn’t work. We followed the directions exactly too. So, we did a simple Google search and found references of all the other dummies who tried this too. It doesn’t work. It isn’t real. We figure the guy in the video must have put glow stick liquid into the peroxide bottle to fool people.
Oh well. And the world could have saved all that money on glow sticks… Maybe it’s a video planted by the Mountain Dew marketing team to drum up some excitement.

A little cave in Rodellar Spain offers some amazing climbing. None that I’d be able to get up on. But if a 5.15 overhanging cave roof is in your reach, then maybe it’s time to check prices on flights to Spain. Here is some footage of Dave Graham putting up some nice moves in the cave as he and others keep breaking new climbing ground there.
