Duck Boat
So it is summer and most kids are out of school! I know all outdoorzy parents have outdoorzy kids .... right:) Well I thought this would be a fun experience for both. Recently on at trip to visit my nephews and niece, my sister took us on an amphibious adventure called a DUCK tour.
We were able to ride on a World War II DUKW vehicle and the kids actually got to drive the boat/truck once we were in the water. I liked the fact that women working for GM actually made all ten thousand of these DUKWs.
These tours normally begin on land with a guide to discusses local history and ends up in the water; I was surprised to find they are available throughout the nation. Here is a listing of several of the major cities which host Duck Tours:
