I recently just purchased the new iPhone 3Gs and I really wanted to get some killer apps on it. Here are some that might really benefit those of us of the outdoor persuasion.
Tide Graph - tidegraph.com - $1.99

Tide Graph uses the harmonic predictions from thousands of US costal stations and presents them in a fun and interactive graph.
I believe boaters, surfers, fisherman and a ton of other people will find this app pretty helpful.
Yosemite Valley Trail Map - earthrover.org - $4.99

Carry the best trail map for Yosemite Valley with you on your iPhone or iPod touch! This app has the highest-quality trail and topographic information available, all stored in the app itself so you don’t need a cell signal to access it. Whether you’re hiking Half Dome or trying to identify the spectacular granite faces of the Valley, this map will help you find your way. The map shows trails, roads, vegetation, 40-foot contours, water features, peaks, campgrounds, and more, and works with the iPhone’s GPS.
Earthrover.org has other trail maps for the iPhone that you should be sure to check out as well.
Big Air Software Park Maps - bigairsoftware.com - $0.99

GPS enabled maps of over 250 U.S. National Parks, Monuments, and Recreational Areas. All Maps are very high resolution and easy to read. You can view them in landscape or portrait mode. Maps are downloaded to the phone, so no internet connection is needed after the maps are downloaded. The maps include hiking and bike trails, campgrounds, restrooms, parking areas, boat launches, fishing areas, points of interest like waterfalls, geysers, wildlife viewing areas, and more.
As their site says there are a ton of maps for a ton of parks. Be sure to check out their site to see all the maps that are available.
Survival Pocket Reference - iTunes - $0.99

This app is based entirely on the keyword SURVIVAL. The U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force know about survival. Their field manuals are the most authoritative guides on survival. This app provides a quick reference guide on basic survival, evasion, and recovery information. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, this app may be essential to your survival.
This could be a real life saver for someone at some point. However, since the iPhone isn't known for a long battery life, you may want to use it for survival training versus relying on it in the wilderness.
Well those are four interesting apps that I found, but be sure to spend some time clicking around iTunes to find some that you like, there are a ton out there.
Are there any that you absolutely love that I don't have listed? Please share with us in the comments. I need to get this thing outfitted with some great apps. Thanks guys!

North Face and REI both have ski report apps. Those are pretty cool.

Cool! I'm going to have to check these out. I also use runkeeper, which records a GPS track of your adventure, although I've found it runs your battery down FAST. You can only get a couple hours.
These USGS trail Iphone maps from Earthover/Tom Harrison and others are NOT worth the money!
Buy KMLLoader for your IPhone and load your own kml files right into Google Map or Google Earth on your Iphone. Also, the Acme Mapper Goggle Map hybrid website has all the topo maps for FREE and the site works great! Best TOPO Map site on the web, period!

iSolunar Hunting & Fishing Times is a new fishing iPhone app that provides users with the best times to fish.
I'm usually one for leaving the computers, phones and technology gadgets at home when I'm in the outdoors (although I keep hearing more and more about wi-fi enabled camp sites and "glamping"). These apps look really helpful... anyone know if there are versions of these or similar apps for the droid?
