The New Nano 7 Travel Hammock is LIGHT

I now have 3 nylon hammocks. Why? Because I like to think that one day I'll actually sleep in one in the backcountry. Not just laze in my side yard where I have a sand pit and a table to hold my drink. Although that's a pretty sweet set up if i must say so.

hammock4The previous two hammocks I picked up are great. They each came with biners and hang quickly. One even came with straps that wrap around the tree. But both were fairly bulky, and I've only taken one on a backpacking trip once because I didn't want to sacrifice the pack space and add that much weight. But I can safely say I will have a hammock with me on any backpacking trip I want now. I just got a Nano 7 Travel Hammock from Grand Trunk. If there was a hammock award for being ultralight, this one would take the prize. It is the lightest non-rope hammock on the market to date.

nano7_hammockNow it isn't the largest of hammocks, but it fit my 6'1" frame just fine when we tested it and is rated for up to 300 lbs. It comes with two biners and the storage pocket is sewn to the hammock so you can use it to put your stuff in. When stuffed into the storage sack the Travel Hammock is 5 inches tall by 4 inches wide. About the size of a grapefruit or smaller and weighs only 6.7 oz! Lonely stretch of beach with two perfect hanging poles not included.
