Remember the days when a hat was just something you put on your head? Well in the outdoor sports world it can be alot more; protection from the sun, a way to keep warmth in, a fashion statement, something to swat bugs with, etc.
Nobis headwear, a Canadian company making fly hats for the outdoorzy type, has recently released their Caps-Lock™ technology to take hats to a whole new level.

"A new system, Caps_Lock™, works by turning a dial, which controls an adjustable headband that can be tightened or loosened as needed, creating perfect closure and tension around heads of various sizes-yes, it is literally a small dial on the side of the hat that twists and turns. This mechanism also creates on-the-fly adjustments to varying conditions such as wind and temperature, tightening the headband for a more secure fit in wind, or loosening it in hot weather to increase airflow. "
Interesting product. I've been on a few mountainsides that took my hat right off my head, so I can appreciate the "wind protection." Those crazy scientists and their ideas. What will they come up with next?
