Buy Organic Produce - local farmers are best, but buying organic at the store is fine too.- Plant A Tree - run by your local garden center, buy a tree, and put it in the ground (Bonus: water helps trees grow)
- Recycle - if the place you are doesn't support recycling, just keep the bottle or trash and carry it with you until you have access to a recycling bin. You can even recycle electronics.
- Donate - pop a check in the mail or go online and donate what you can to an organization.
- Bike It - ride your bike somewhere, even just to the store down the street.
- Upgrade - get new compact fluorescent bulbs, re-usable shopping bags, or anything that will keep you from consuming energy.
- Check your Tires - by keeping your pressure equal in tires, you can get better gas mileage, and thus produce less emissions.
- Make it a Big Deal - just by making it a big deal at work or school today you can get people interested and build the enthusiasm.
- Sweat/Chill - turn off your heating and air unit today. Yep, just let it get cold or warm... save a little energy.
- Get Out - even if it's raining or snowing out, get outdoors and enjoy the world. You'll appreciate it and will want to protect it all the more.
