It's almost that time folks. In the southern US it is that time... flip flop season. When you're not on the trail on in the river hopefully you're doing a little bit of R&R and preparing for your next trip. During that time you need the proper gear... a t-shirt, shorts, cool drink, and some flip flops. You could always go with the el cheapos, but nobody wants to blow out their flip flop. So today we're reviewing the Chaco Flip, a premium flip flop for the outdoorsman with a discerning taste.
Chaco has always paid close attention to providing a proper footbed. My first pair of Chacos are still around, and the arch support is still there after all the miles I've put on them. The flip incorporates the arch support and grippy sole into a laid back flip flop design.
The Ecotread sole is also made of 25% recycled rubber so you can sleep well at night.
The "Flip" is Chacos minimalist shoe. It's not meant for serious activity, however the sole is grippy enough that if you need to tread on slippery surfaces you can do so. It comes in a variety of colors and designs, even one with skulls on it for the days you just wanna look at people and say "What!"
A Note on Sizing: We found these run a bit small. I typically wear size 11 in Men's and they come just to the back of my heal with no extra room. If your flip flop preference is for them to be slightly longer than your foot, order a half to a full size up to ensure the perfect length in the back.
We found the $55 price tag to be spot on for the quality of the shoe. It's a flop you'll be sporting until you just want new ones. You'll wear out before they do.
