Adventure Sports Week is only 2 months away (June 5-14) and those who love adventure racing are gearing up for the event. A new website was launched to promote the event, and Robyn Benincasa has announced that she'll be promoting Project Athena. Project Athena is a non-profit organization that encourages women who have endured life-altering medical setbacks to unleash the athlete and adventurer within and complete the journey of a life-time - whether that be to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, cross the finish line of an Iron Man Triathlon, or fall into the arms of a proud family at the end of a local 5K!
Adventure Sports Week is lowering it's entry fees for some races too. The organizer, David Adlard, said, “We wanted to do something so that folks can come and race even in this tough economy, so we lowered the price of the Adventure Races and the Orienteering meet to make them more affordable.”
