It seemed like yesterday that I decided to go to the theater with a friend to see No Country For Old Men, the 2007 Academy Award winner for Best Picture of the Year. I am a huge fan of the Coen brothers (The Big Lebowski, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Raising Arizona, Burn After Reading, etc.). The film was incredible. The movie follows a rural Texan sherrif as he chases an insane killer and encounters the case of his life.

The deadly game of chase leads the cast of awkward characters across the west Texas barren landscape. This backdrop is part of the reason I really enjoyed the movie. As someone who loves the outdoors I saw this seldom seen part of our country as a place I wanted to visit. The remoteness and inaccessibility made the area the perfect setting for a criminal to hide. If you can imagine a place where you can see for miles and not see a person, or much less a tree then you can envision the vastness of this part of the American landscape.

Tomorrow the 3 Disc Set of No Country For Old Men will be released. I have to admit, the film has an atypical ending. If you are familiar with Joel and Ethan Coen though you'll understand that "atypical" is typical with them. If you are thinking this is going to be one of their comedies then you'll be disappointed. Although there is some black humor hiding here and there, this film is heavily a thriller. It will suck you in and keep you interested, and in true Coen form it will take you for a few wild twists.

The cast includes Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, and a few other big name surprises. The No Country 3 Disc set provides hours and hours of entertainment and insight into the making of the film. It also includes a digital copy of the film so you can "have a back up." These digital copies have a file on them that you can put on your laptop or mobile device and are meant to be used as a back up or for on the go.

Buy it tomorrow at Amazon or your favorite local movie shop and get ready to spend half a day on the bonus features, the list is long...
