Bond is an icon. Quantum of Solace fits well into the Bond series, and even moves toward a more action-based platform like it's rival the Bourne series. Daniel Craig plays bond again and pulls off some amazing stunts in this incarnation of James Bond.
On March 24th the new 2-disc set for Quantum of Solace will be released on standard DVD and on Blu-Ray as well. I got an early copy to review and I was tickled pink to see all the bonus features. My wife is a big Bond fan from her childhood. She grew up watching the series with her father. I, on the other hand, didn't really gain an appreciation for Bond until I was older. I have always been able to appreciate a good action flick though and Quantum of Solace delivers. Interpretation: Lots of stuff gets blown up.
One thing that will stand out to some of us who enjoy a good international jaunt are the locations from which Quantum of Solace was filmed. Set in Bolivia this time with breakaways to London and other locales the film provides stunning scenery. Some of the action shots were even done in Central America. The special features provide more background on how they found the striking scenery and how they made the film as authentic as possible. Throw in a good-ole antique aircraft chase through the mountains of South America and you've got yourself a great flick.
