Gift Idea #8 - Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX

A mouthful, yes. But that mouthful of letters and numbers not only sounds technical, it is technical.

Review: Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX

Salomon is known for it's adventure racing shoes. They've been a huge supporter of that sport for years. The fact that Salomon's can perform so well in the multi-sport environment only underlines the logic that they make great trail shoes. These shoes are like little lightweight army tanks for your feet.

If you can properly describe these shoes to your mate when writing your Christmas list, you've already leaped your only hurdle. "Honey, I really want these shoes I saw online the other day, they are the Salomon XA pro 3D Ultra GTX." And she'll be like... the Salmon 3D what?" But once you've simply sent her a link she'll get the idea.

The shoes speak for them selves when it comes to performance. Here is an abbreviated version of the features you get with these hosses.

  • Gore Tex
  • Quick Drying, Breathable
  • SUPER light
  • Contragrip Outsole

Salomon claims these are the best trail runners on the market. I can't say that I disagree. I've run in them on and off trail, taken them on an overnight backpacking trip and worn them around the office and home. The signature Salomon lacing system synches the shoes up around your feet like a glove. And the rubber toe guard keeps your piggies safe from rogue sticks and rocks.

The insole does an excellent job of cradling the foot, keeping your arch supported, locking your heels in place, and using it's antimicrobial qualities to keep the funk at bay. All key to making your time on the trail pleasant. They also come in a wide variety of colors so you can keep the style factor in the equation.

I loved these shoes, and I think they will quickly become my "everything" shoes.
