The Shoes of Summer-New Balance 920 Women’s

June 17th, 2008 Elizabeth

Myself (Elizabeth) and another female reviewer (Lynn) took a dip into our New Balance 920 shoes and below is what we had to say about our experiences but first the stats.

The New Balance website lists the following features for the 920 water shoes:
- Vibram outsole
- Razor siping outsole
- C-Cap midsole
- H2Flow
- Water-resistant upper
- Quick pull lacing system
- Molded EVA insert

These retail for $89.99 and can be found at most outdoor retailers.

My husband and I canoe throughout the year and I’m always stressing over a good canoe shoe. I’ve tried trendy outdoor sandals, flip flops, tennis shoes, etc. and I’ve found problems with all of them. Here is what I loved about the New Balance 920:

-full protection from the sun for my feet
-the vibram sole gripped the put in and take out terrain making hauling the canoe much easier and secure
-they dry fast and the side holes above the soles release water well
-rocks stay out (except for smallest of pebbles but they were so small I didn’t need to remove)

These shoes are so cute that I wear them out as well!

Lynn
In one word, these shoes are awesome. I’ve worn these shoes to go walking, biking, to work, and just running errands around town. They are so comfortable for just about any use. The quick pull laces just add to their awesomeness by making it easy to take the shoes on and off.

I haven’t been in a situation to fully test the H2Flow system, but I have worn them when it was raining. So when I wasn’t able to jump all the way across a puddle in front of the office, the “drainage holes” on the sides kept my feet from getting too soggy.

I also like how they look. The navy blue pair I have look really good with jeans.
