Day 12, May 21, Wednesday, Gallup, NM to Grants, NM
We had great weather today. We crossed the continental Divide at 7,275 feet. I am feeling great thanks to My Yoga practice that I do each morning. Only two flat tires today. This brings the total to 7.
Day 13, May 22, Thursday, Grants, NM to Albuquerque, NM
This was the best day for me. I rode with a fellow cyclist from Ireland, Damien Bryne. Our first sag stop was 37 miles from Grants. We covered the distance in less that 2 hours. Because of the hail, snow and wind we needed to ride to say warm. The distance for the day was 75 miles. We rode across the Rio Grande River and downhill for 5 miles coming into Albuquerque. Some riders were going 45+ MPH.
Day 14, May 23, Friday, Albuquerque, NM to Santa Fe, NM
Our trip today was 67 miles. I had to SAG in the hotel because of the low temperature-43 degrees and rain. I rode 36 miles put had to give up. I didn’t bring the correct clothing for this type of cool weather.
This evening we had supper in Old Town Santa Fe and we will have a rest day on Saturday in Santa Fe.
