Coyote Attacks at Copper Mtn
February 20th, 2008 Wade

A coyote attacked a young skier at Copper Mountain ski resort in Colorado last week. The coyote bit the kids parka and had bitten the snowboard of another. The picture above was apparently taken by the childs mother as she watched on. Wildlife officials determined the only way to handle the situation was to destroy the coyote. Officials assume the coyote had been fed by people and turned aggressive when it saw humans as a source of food.
Here’s a video interview with the kid, Tyler.

Yep, that’s how I would react watching a coyote approach my young son…..”ooh ooh where’s my camera?”

So, I’m sorry. But I think it ridiculous to destroy an animal after an attack.
If people are responsible about the enviroment that they are playing in, incidents like this would dramaticly decrease….afterall, you’re skiing in HIS backyard.

Not to mention the fact that a lone coyote is hardly dangerous.

Ya know, I think it’s definitely okay to kill an animal that’s attacking humans. It may be his backyard…but it’s still an animal. Don’t try to humanize it if it’s a danger to us. You might feel different if it’s your kid that gets eaten. That being said…I think it’s ridiculous that people try to feed wild animals because they almost always end up dead. It’s a real shame. Some people are idiots.
