This post has little relevance to the outdoor sports world, and little relevance to this website. But it’s something interesting… to me anyway.
I was purchasing a car this weekend and finally narrowed my decision down to the Pontiac Vibe… made by Toyota… yeah, don’t ask me. I picked it for its fuel efficiency, utility, features, etc. Now the hard part, picking the color. With choices like “Midnight Black”, “Caribbean Blue”, and “Pine Green”… what to choose??? Well “Outdoorzy Orange” of course!

This is a stock photo, not an actual picture. I only wish my house was that colorful…

Yes, the Montero will be missed.
Did you get the Vibe this weekend?

I was wondering if you got one this past weekend. I’m partial to blue, but the orange is pretty cool.

Yes, out with the gas-sucking, enviro-killing, oil-leaking Montero.
In with the gas-easy, enviro-friendly, very orange Vibe.
Bought this weekend in Cincinnati. Has a towing bar and roof rack… ready for outdoorzy adventures.

How do you like it? I’ve been looking at those and the VW Golf TDI, and the Focus hatch. Will probably trade the truck sometime in the near future.

I like it alot so far. I’ve only had it for 4 days so far, but it gets incredible gas mileage. It seems like it’s quality. I am having to adjust to not having the space I had in my SUV, but I think that it’s going to be a minimal adjustment.
It’s a GT, so it’s a stick. That’s an adjustment too since I haven’t driven a manual in about 4 years. But it’s like riding a bike, it’s all coming back to me. It’s a 6 speed which is different too. It’s got some get-up-and-go, which is nice too. And it makes a cool beeping noise in the cockpit when you put it in reverse….

I just saw the 2007 Pontiac Vibe is #2 on the “greenest vehicles” list for “small wagon” class.

It’s an ‘04… cause you know how I roll… cheaply!
I have been looking on autotrader.com for about 3 weeks and had only found a few I was interested in, none in my area. And this one was in my price range, had a towing package, had the crossbars on the roof rack, sunroof, and … it was orange. It had everything I was looking for so I made the drive up there. Plus I called and they were pretty good to deal with on the price. I hate the haggling part of buying a car.
